The KOG would have been Seventy Years Old in this photo on Trepang's Alpha Trial. The OOD would have been twenty-eight.

I was the OOD, the Skipper was CDR (Later RADM) Dean Sackett KOG was a euphemism - Kindly Old Gentleman. Google on KOG Rickover PS Like you, I was a raghat (that ended up being Commisioned.) |
