With the holidays upon us I would like to share a personal experience with you all about drinking and driving after a "social event" with friends.

This past Wednesday, I was out for a fun evening with several friends.

Of course, in the holiday spirit, I had a few cocktails, followed by several glasses of wine.

However, despite my "jolliness", I still had the sense to know that I was over the limit.

That's when I decided to do what I have never done before: I took a cab home.

It was a good thing I did because, sure enough, there was a police road block on the highway.

But, since I was in a cab, they waved it past and I arrived home safely without incident.

This was both a great relief and surprise because I had never driven a cab before . . .

I don't even know where I got it and, now that it is in my garage, I don't know what to do with it.

Be safe out there! Big smile

Reminds me of a certain innocently accused Submarine Crew. Seems a fire engine found its way to the exact pier this particular sub was tied up to. Even had some SP types swearing an Officer was driving when it pulled up there. Of all the unfounded accusations I have ever heard, that one took the cake. Minor fines and restrictions to the boat were dealt out immediately upon her departure for patrol.

I think this happened more than some think.

We were moored in Bermuda and a few of us walked up to the O Club for an evening of drinks. At closing the base Command Duty Office checked the place was empty and locked up the liquor and the entrance.

He left his keys in his car.  We took the car and headed to the boat. I was the driver,  I guess because I had a Govt. License.

On the way back we heard the APB  on the car's radio. Someone figured out parking at the pier would not be smart. We pulled over, got out, and walked to the pier.
