Sinking US aircraft carriers will resolve tension in South China Sea, says Chinese admiral

The deputy head of a Chinese military academy told an audience in Shenzhen last month that tensions in the South China Sea could be resolved by sinking a pair of U.S. aircraft carriers, reports said. "What the United States fears the most is taking casualties," said Rear Admiral Lou Yuan, deputy head of the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences, news.com.au reported. He said sinking one carrier would kill 5,000 and sinking two would double that number.

Well, his math checks out. Unfortunately he left off the part where sinking 2 US carriers would result in many times more Chinese deaths as well.

His math may check out, but his belief that the US would not respond for fear of taking casualties is simply wrong.  And if he truly believes that statement, he is dangerous.  Saddam Hussein learned that lesson the hard way.  But we lost far too many Americans in the process.

The man thinks the Kenyon is still in the White House, He needs to study the PRESIDENT.  One boat off the coast will follow the orders of our current CIC and entire areas of China including major portions of their military will disappear. Bloviate (sic) all you want, do not test Mr. Trump, you will not like the result. In my not so humble opinion.

And we've devolved from naval discussions to political name calling. Bob, take it somewhere else. You have been warned.
