I get more impressed with DAV (Disabled American Veterans) all the time.  You do NOT have to be a DAV member to get them to help you submit VA Claims for example.  They also traveled to over 800 locations and drove 104,662 miles serving 17700 veterans last year providing free information seminars on veteran benefits and you don't have to be a VA patient to get this information.  They have mobile vans out traveling the roads.  Last year they helped, their families and survivors to receive  $4.04 billion in new and retro benefits up from 3.7 billion in 2014.
One of their pushes in to assist female veterans.  One lady was raped 40 years ago while in the military and DAV helped her get VA PTSD and MST (Military Sexual Trauma) help.  She is now receiving 100 disabilitry for something that occured in 1968. She suffered 42 years before someone recognized the problem and contacted DAV.  1 of 5 women enrolled at the VA screened positive fore MST!
DAV is working hard to help the 47,725 homeless vets get assistance.  Virginia in 2015 placed its last homeless veteran in permanent housing making it the first state to eliminate veteran homelessness.  NYC is down to 760 homeless.
Every increase in government authority is a decrease of the liberty of each citizen.
