Dec 3, 2020 — Ballistic Missile Submarines (SSBNs) 19 The 12 planned boats are consequently now referred to as Columbia (SSBN-826) class boats. 20 On October 28, 2020, Secretary of the Navy Kenneth Braithwaite stated that the second ship in the class (SSBN- 827), which is scheduled to be procured in FY2024, will be named Wisconsin.


Displacement: 20,810 long tons (21,140 t) (submerged)
Cost: US$109.8 billion for 12 boats (FY2021, projected)
Installed power: Nuclear reactor-42 year life
Sensors and processing systems: Enlarged version of the Virginia-class LAB sonar
Length: 560 ft (171 m)
