Another Forum is discussing Sanitary Tanks on 688 Class and Ohio Class.

The Claim is that Sanitary Tanks with Human Waste can be either blown or pumped?

Is this true?  You could pump the human waste tank(s) on those classes?

PS:  I misspelled Sanitary in the Topic Name to see who noticed.... or maybe just screwed up.

Thanks.

To be clear, you could EITHER pump OR blow the Sanitary that you pooped in?

Additionally, the other forum guy asserted you could blow or pump the other Sanitaries.

That is also my recollection on SSBN730. On 641, there was no pump option.

Tnx.

That other poster suggested that there were no more Sanitary Soft Tanks  - they are ALL Hard Tanks that can be either blown or pumped.

Likely a noise reduction feature and may have something to do with being able to discharge waste alongside the pier.

Live and learn.
