I was traveling north on the NJ Tpky yesterday and at a pit stop I met a guy wearing gold dolphins on his hat with a gold oakleaf pinned to the hat. We got to talking and he told me he was on Rickover's personal staff for 14 years and thought the guy was terrific, unlike everything I had heard from guys that might have crossed paths with him. He did say he was a by the book officer...
