I remember one run we had an MM for a COB, an MM Bull Nuke, an MM Nuke Chief, an MM A Div Chief and an MM Baby Chief in M div. I think that is some kind of record for Chiefs of the same rate on a Boat.

OMG!  All at the same time in the same patrol!  That is just too many machinists simultaneously mating.  Probably made the sonar girls take down their brocade drapes and who knows what other atrocities.  I'm just saying . . . Wink

Could be, that was in the seventies, and that was a long time ago. I meant MM's. There was a point the entire division was E-6 or above.

USS Thresher SSN 593 had ......(2) EMCA,(2) EMCS,and (1) EMCM when she was lost.

EMCM and one of the EMCS were brothers.

The navy is a little odd in "rate" not "rank" and then "rating" for job description.

IE Making rate in one's rating.

Rank = commissioned officers
Rate = E-1, E-2, ... E-8, E-9.
Rating = MM, EM, EN, QM, RM, ... etc.
