Atlantic 09/05/67: The USS Corporal (SS-346) collides with the racing sloop Media IV in Block Island Sound off Rhode Island. The sloop's owner claims the submarine rammed the sloop and left without offering aid. The Navy says the submarine was stopped dead when hit.
