On the SSBN 632 Blue Crew, it was tradition to allow the senior nuke leaving the boat to conduct the topside swipe survey on the way in. If they wanted to. In twelve patrols and one overseas extended refit plus a tour. We were Shellbacks, Blue Noses, Crossed the time line. All with classified locations and time lines. We were in Post Everglades for the Bi-Centennial on Spring Break. Rode out a few really bad storms. What did you guys do that was memorable?

Reset Master SINS, aye. LOL Three knots to nowhere didn't create much opportunity for excitement, other than WSRT's. But, in 1969 on my third patrol, we did have a most excellent adventure in the Med with one of our "competitors". Sadly for them, they were not aware that they were participating. That was an interesting week but probably still off the record. Edited by 610ET - 17 Oct 2017 at 11:02am |
