I just talked to Dave Stoops on the phone. He says the hurricane missed him completely - no wind, no rain, no flooding, no nothing. Everyone and everything is fine.

Good news. I'm still waiting to hear from folks I went to college with in Beaumont. Many lived down in Port Arthur, Nederland, and Sabine Pass. I do know many evacuated.

I got hit hard here in Louisiana, lost a lot of shingles off roof the building I keep RV in and boat demolished, water comming through ceiling because of the roof.. no electricity in the whole town and they say 6 to 8 weeks to have service. my main concern now is with all the trees down on fences and trying to keep cattle contained. Ill never stay for another storm like Laura.
I look around at the damages and feel lucky.
