Undersea Warfare email reports that, Currently, 335 women -- 97 officers and 238 enlisted sailors -- are serving on submarines, making up about 5% of the silent service.
Now that is fine but doing some math makes the total submarine force 6700 people and that really sad!  That means only 111 people for our current 61 boat fleet.  Can that be right?

It doesn't seem right, for sure. Even just personnel assigned to boats, as you said, and not taking into account Squadron, Group, Force personnel, or those assigned to training billets.

There are 14 SSBNs, with a conservative estimate of 280 personnel per ship (140/crew), pus 140 each for the 4 SSGNs, thats 4,480 right there... leaving "the rest of the silent service" at 2,280 personnel for the other 43 boats (53 per crew).  Nope, the math is wonky. By my estimate the submarine force should be around 10,000 not including shore/training assignments.  That makes 335 female sailors more like 3%, again just counting seagoing commands. I guess 3% is "about" 5% if you're a "reporter".

Nope, arithmetic error. 6700 - 335 Women = 6365 men

6365 men/61 Boats is 104 Men Per Boat plus 5.5 women per boat.
