Sorry: The new books is: Admiral Hyman Rickover by Marc Wortman
Also little know facts:
Jimmy Carter and Wife got a cruise on the Los Angles (688) and actually made a dive. The only woman to dive on a submarine as a relative of a President.
Rickover was the longest ever serving U.S.N. Officer at 63 years.  Only Omar Bradley had more "military" time.
President Reagan's new SecNav (John Lehman) was determined to push Rickover out. VP Bush also supported Lehman but Reagan was non-committal at the time. But it was done.
  Rickover made 126 Sea Trials.
Rickover interviewed 15,000 naval officers.  Only 15% passed his scrutiny.
He passed July 8, 1986 after two strokes and pneumonia.

It's also available at Amazon Kindle for $12.99.

Finished reading. Not a favorite.
