In prep for the NWTPI they held meetings in the crews mess warning the crew what had been done to attempt a penetration of a sub. I remember these, but only ever was around for one.
The slide projector with the fake bomb in it. That is the one they tried on one of our inspections. The fire watch with their own fire extinguisher, which concealed a bomb. The drunk returning from Liberty that wasn't a crew member. The inspector's briefcase rigged with a bomb. There were others, but I can't remember them.

Walt,
Had I done everything right throughout my life, the World wouldn't have noticed. |

I was guilty of one of those. Came back hammered and went below on the 598 thinking I was in the 600. Had a few glasses of cold milk and a cup of coffee before some Chief asked if I was a new crew member. A bit of discussion and some help from the topside watch got me to my home. No repercussions. To keep to the post all I ever experienced were repel boarders drills. |
