He was in the forward torpedo room. The hatch blew open and hit him in the face. He got out the escape hatch and a free ascent of 192 feet. Seen on the surface, he sank there after and was lost. Fifteen years old.

Not sure. Just gleanings from the internet searches. He was 13 when he enlisted.
