Interesting. Now if we can just build triangular shaped submarines made of perforated metamaterial we will be home free.  Seriously, I suspect that if we are seeing this information in a UK publication our scientific progress is likely far beyond what is being reported. For years one couldn't even mention NR-1. Then you couldn't mention that you ever served on her. You sure couldn't mention where you had been. You actually got threatened when playfully mentioning going treasure hunting in the Caribbean to supplement retirement. You sure didn't mention any planes you might have found, nor where. You couldn't even complain about sea sickness during transit, probably because you weren't the only one. Then suddenly folks know about the Tom Cat retrieval off Scotland, and she's being used to find regular ship wrecks. Then they write a book about her. Then she is actually a photo op or two. All the while, one tends to thing that there was a better one being kept under wraps somewhere, and these little excursions were distractions. I would neither confirm nor deny any of this. However strategic releases about the Russian's operating under the ice drove us to really do it, when they never had.
