On a boring Winter Northern run, the M2UL and LL watches were discussing chapter four of the RPM when a thought occurred to them. The injection temperatures were around 32 degrees. So wouldn't it be fun to rig the M2 head to float a scrotum? So they carefully filled the bowl, and isolated the outboard seawater supply valve and opened the flush valve. Now normally for newbies, the shower was rigged, but this was more devious. Well the EOOW called for the EWS for relief. The EOOW settled in. The valve was slowly cracked open. When the desired level was reached, the results were instantaneous. The scream was deafening. The valve was immediately opened all the way and innocence prevailed among the watch. The angered Lieutenant came boiling out. He looked around and saw nothing suspicious. Stormed back into Maneuvering and demanded to know who had done it. The EWS, actually innocent in the whole thing, looked at him and said what? The Eoow explained. The EWS looked him in the eye and said. Sir, I wouldn't let it get around that you have problems operation a Submarine head, the men might lose confidence in your abilities. Stated he stands relieved and left Maneuvering. Fro the rest of the run, everyone was careful to check the flush valve closed prior to use.
