International House of Pancakes, renamed itself International House of Burgers.
Someone had to bite the Burger and report, so:
I tried out the Burgers at lunch today. Really a good burger, and the fries were outstanding. I will be  back in the future. $6.99 for a burger, drink and all the fries you want, not bad.

I agree with your food review. I hadn't been to IHOP in years, but was near one for lunch.
Burger was very good, as well as the fries. Price was great.

They still have everything they had as IHOP, including my favorite Swedish Crepes.

And they will continue to have all of your favorites since the only thing that was changed was their name and that change is temporary.  They were just promoting their burger menu and are retaining their usual fare.  And, in view of your positive report(s), it apparently was a genius move on IHOP's part.  In fact, you're making me hungry . . . Big smile

According to a report by CNBC, the name change is just part of a promotion for a new line of burgers and won’t be permanent.

And here I thought they were going to try to compete with the Waffle House, add waffles, and change their name to IHOW!
My mistake.

Hamburger, all you can eat fries and a refillable drink for $6.99 was still a pretty good deal. Even if it was a marketing stunt.

As I said above, it was about promoting their products.  Not the first time such actions have been taken.  In fact, one could make reference to The Snake in the Garden of Eden promoting the virtues and positive qualities of The Apple.  IOW, there's nothing new about such behavior . . . it is called selling your wares or commercial advertising and, in legal terms, is sometimes referred to as "puffery."

Quote The name change sparked a social media furor, even though IHOP appeared to be hedging its bets by saying the new IHOb name was "for the time being." Some fans called the name change "bizarre" and "a nightmare." Still, IHOb's bigger goal appears to have been achieved: The name change got consumers talking about the brand.
