When some genius, in the early seventies, went to the heavier lock-wire on the reactor compartment door. How many pair of standard lock-wire pliers did you break before you violated the written procedure and went to vise grips? Anyone got any idea why the change? I know they came out with a heavier set of lock-wire pliers shortly after getting the feedback. As an Ollie, "What was the twist rate of a properly applied lock-wire?

I'm not a nuc, but, on an LM2500 using .032 lockwire it was 6-8 twists/inch minimum

That is correct for the Stainless .032 wire normally used. The new wire was a lot thicker and it was 4-6 per inch. Yes, I left out the thickness just in case.
