There's nothing wrong with that. It is a second living space, a second "bedroom" especially for the kids, and there's another half bathroom - didn't see a toilet, but a urinal. Didn't mean to imply it isn't cool, because it sure is. Reading further, it appears he is married; he installed a second growler in the kitchen upstairs but said his wife still prefers to yell at him. Seems to me the guy is just having a good time setting up the Goat Locker in his basement. I can think of a bunch of things he could be doing that would be a lot worse. On the other hand if he is obsessed with this project to the extent he is spending the family's food money on it he may have a problem. But, there is no indication of any of that. No OCD going on here as far as I can see. So, good on him. I hope he invites some sub vet friends over for a beer and much reminiscing.
