When you came into port, the boat was obviously connected to shore power and the engines were shut down. Was the boat able to charge batteries (equalizing or otherwise) from shore power, or did the charge require running an engine? Could charge from AC Shore Power. (On the T-1 we could charge from DC Shore power in Key West.) |

We could charge using shore power alone. But, to start the LP Blower we had to shift some of the load to the battery via the 300KW Mg's. Yes. As an additional help, if we knew we were going to be in port for more than a couple of days we could bolt on the Vent Covers. |

I seem to remember one time at the Weapons Station Charleston at the Missile Pier a flatbed trailer with a Fairbanks Morse just like ours on it feeding us shore power. ------------- Walt, Had I done everything right throughout my life, the World wouldn't have noticed. |
