4/20/2021 Update - I fell behind in this because SecNav has changed the location and method of release. New updates were not where they used to be, and I foolishly took that as a delay in releasing more parts.

Here is the direct link to SecNav's THRESHER archive. Note that as of today, we are up to Volume 7:

Part 2 tells of a possible ASW leak in LLARM2.  An astute person I know says the MCP circuit breakers panels in ULAM2 were drip proof but not waterproof.  A leak in AMR2LL may have caused the MCP breakers to trip. He said they were open on the bottom into LLAMR2.  Gives one pause to consider if that was what caused the plant to scram, closing MS1&2 and loss of propulsion as they were headed down to test depth, a bit heavy, and with a down angle.
HMMMMM?

I have to wonder if the people that forced this disclosure still think it was worthwhile to have pursued now that they have seen the material?

11/25/2020 Part 3 has been released, including ADM Rickover's testimony, however I have been unable thus far to get it downloaded. Both USNI and SECNAV have links for it, but both are broken as of now. I will keep trying to get this document added to our archive.

Edit: Disregard above, I have it downloading now. Will post link in the first post of this thread shortly.

Edit: Part 3 (322 more pages) is now linked above in the first post.

Do you have the declass authority page for "Sea-Based Airborne Antisubmarine Warfare 1940-1977"?  I would like to post this on a website and need the authority stamp or letter.

Thank you,

rich

Hi Rich,

I do not have the letter and cannot seem to locate one. I did however source these directly from SecNav at this location:
https://www.secnav.navy.mil/_layouts/15/osssearchresults.aspx?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Esecnav%2Enavy%2Emil&k=Sea%2DBased%20Airborne%20Anti%20Submarine%20Warfare%201940%2D1977" rel="nofollow - https://www.secnav.navy.mil/_layouts/15/osssearchresults.aspx?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Esecnav%2Enavy%2Emil&k=Sea%2DBased%20Airborne%20Anti%20Submarine%20Warfare%201940%2D1977

I hope this is sufficient for your purposes. If not, a FOIA request may be your only sure bet of getting it.

- Gerry
