Dec 6, 1955 the USS Atule SS 403 while changing berths struck a seawall, collapsed a wooden parking area and sank a Volkeswagon!

ODec 7th-As FDR said the next day "A Day that will live forever in Infamy."

AIR RAID, PEARL HARBOR. THIS IS NO DRILL

Three more dates come to mind,
1963, I enlisted in the Naval Reserve.
1967, my last day on the ship.
1968, Received my Honorable discharge from the Naval Reserve.

It wasn't til Monday, 8 Dec that F.D.R. gave his speech.

Early 1970s USS Halfbeak came into Subase Pier 11 (IIRC) too fast and hit the sea wall at the head of the pier. Bow Buoyancy was bent over nearly 90 degrees.
Halfbeak was approaching end of life, so the Bow Buoyancy was cut off. Now unsafe to submerge, she provided target services until decommissioned - no submerging!
We all called her the NoBeak until she was scrapped
