Robert H. Swanson, age 92, died at 5:00pm, January 23, 2018 in a car accident in Oxnard, California.
Robert was born on July 4, 1925 in Sacramento, California. At a young age he joined the Navy and served on the submarine 'Parche' in WWII for 4 years. Robert graduated from UCSB in June 1953, with his Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in physical education, health education, and driver's education. He then moved on to acquire his Masters of Education degree in June 1972, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He eventually moved to Ventura, California for his later years of life. He always had a passion for making an influence in the lives of many, and was an active member of the community He was involved with Ventura High School for over 30 years. Robert was inducted into the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame, and was very proud to have been recognized for his many accomplishments. Bob was married to his wife Barbara Swanson for 54 years, and was the father of four children. He is survived by his wife  Barbara Swanson, his two daughters Terri Stearns, and Wendy Roulhac, his granddaughter Taylor Roulhac, and family.
 
A celebration of Robert "Bob" Swanson's life will be held on February 18, 2018, ath 1:00 pm, at The Ventura Townehouse in Ventura, California.
