She was raised, overhauled and renamed Sailfish with the same hull number. Made 12 War patrols and sank 7 ships. In a strange twist of fate, the USS Sculpin was the boat that found the Squalus ub 1939, Later in the war Sailfish sank a 20,000 carrier which was carrying survivors of the Sculpin as POWs. However none of the crew of Scorpion was aboard during the Squalus incident.
