As of October 22 2018 there are now approximately 137,000 submariners recorded in USSVI/Decklog, all cross-linked with the boats they served aboard.

Of this total, 37,200 are known to be on eternal patrol.  Every day additional losses are entered as we become aware of them.

This is by far the largest and most complete compilation of USN submarine crew records in the world, and this is an increase of 17,000 submariners since last report of Feb 27th 2015.

Anyone can look up their shipmates at www.decklog.com by name and/or by boat. Not all are entered yet, but most who served up through 1970 are there.

The information is gathered from Boat Crew Associations, Microfilmed Boat personnel records, some self reporting and obituary records of SVWWII and USSVI.

It is not complete but is by far the best available information on Submariners gathered in one source and is intended to benefit submariners and their families.

Pat:
Your efforts in this work are deeply appreciated.  Hopefully the list will become accessible again for entry and corrections.  I still have my 599 Crew list to input/check.  The Contact person for the 599, for example, passed away quite some time ago.
    Thanks for what you do!
Down the road I will push and I am sure USSVI will also push the Legacy project.
