Operational in 2020?  OK, more fake news? Insurv didn't look at nor were the catapults demonstrated. Why ? because they don't work. So what good is a carrier that can't launch a plane? Even the POTUS is smart enough to say "let's go back to goddamned steam". This thing is white elephant.

How can a carrier  successfully completed its acceptance trials " while at the same time "The Navy is still working out the kinks in several new technologies, including the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System and the Advanced Arresting Gear" . A possible deployment in 2022? Wow.I'm impressed. I read this stuff and also the failures of the LCS program and wonder about our ship building.

Hah! If a carrier can't launch planes because her catapults don't work at all, I call that a failure..not a kink. Confused

I don't know where the idea that the catapults are a failure. Here is a link: http://www.oldsaltblog.com/2017/05/problems-uss-gerald-r-ford-hint-not-catapults/
