Who were the first Americans to capture a ship of the British?
Three weeks after Lexington and Concord a group of men left for Lake Champlain to capture Ft. Ticonderoga.  They did easily without loss of life and a few days later also the fort at Crown Point.
In the Process they captured two small ships (one at each location) and renamed them Liberty and Enterprise.
Who led these assaults and captures?
Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold!
From the book: Igniting the American Revolution 1773-1775 by Derek W. Beck
