ID cards for ALL VETERANS will begin hopefully this year.  This has been in the works since 2015.  This not just for VA enrolled types but for all Veterans.  Details as they become available.  This card will work at Home Depot, Lowes, Restaurants that give discounts to Veterans, etc, etc.
Every increase in government authority is a decrease of the liberty of each citizen.

When I tried to get a Calif. military ID card, I needed to have a Certified copy of my DD214.

I figured it would cost more to get a Certified copy than I was going to save at Home Depot.

In Arizona you can take your DD214 into motor vehicle and get a veteran's driver's license, for a nominal fee ($10 or $15, IIRC).

When I returned to NH I was able to have a veteran indicator on my license. It was free and all I showed was my retired ID (others would have to provide a DD214).

I went to Home Depot today to buy a new stove. I pulled out my ancient Navy Reserve ID card that expired December 1968. They accepted it as valid military ID. Got the 10% discount.

Whatever works!
