The idea was to ship over when you were in the war zone so there were no taxes. I was always amazed at how many nukes managed that task. Especially when no one was allowed to disclose the boats location at any given time. The ones that were single, used to got to get a Lotus (I think I got that right) while in Holy Locke. Drive it around and bring it home. I know one guy got a Scottish Taxi. Our guys were into Corvettes. One nuke had a 56 he had painted by Jamison Corvette in Charleston. He did the mechanical work. I remember he had a heck of a time with a plastic gear in the transmission. Finally had to have one made. Young and rich, if only for a very short time.
Walt,
Had I done everything right throughout my life, the World wouldn't have noticed.

I re-enlisted in the Vietnam war zone. There was no lat/lon on my reenlistment papers and the zone was quite large.

Did you put that VRB in the 10% savings account available to us at the time?
