Walter Jacob McGreevy Jr. (Pete) of San Jose was received into the arms of the Lord on Aug. 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 87.

Pete was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Maureen. Pete is survived by his five children; Patrick of Folsom, CA; Kimberly Flammer of San Jose, Mike and Will of San Francisco, Lisa Klovanish, of Vista, and his 8 grandchildren.

After graduating from the Naval Academy, Pete served on submarines and battleships and retired as a lieutenant commander. He served in Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star.

Upon retiring from the Navy, Pete moved to San Jose, were he volunteered at Saint Victor's Catholic Church. Friends and family are invited to a Visitation and Rosary on Saturday, August 25, from 9-10 am, with a funeral mass to follow at 10 am at Saint Victor's Church in San Jose.
