US Navy eyes cutting Blue Angels' 2020 season if budget ax falls A paper submitted to Congress by Navy Secretary Richard Spencer puts the Blue Angels’ 2020 tour in the crosshairs if Congress can’t come to a deal that avoids an across-the-board cut to the Defense Department’s budget.

Good, we should have shut them down years ago, along with the Thunderbirds and a thousand military bands. Why?
1.) Obviously they haven't help recruiting. Recruiting goals cannot be meet today. That was one of the "reasons" they were started.
2.) The military has a severe funding problem. Ships/boats not making commitments because they are broke. All the while these Fat cats and crews are sucking up er diem living the high life. Send them back to an operational unit and be useful.
3.) The same applies to all the different bands.

Just my view from the forward hole.
Everything is relative

I have to agree with the ragged old Chief hanging out in the forward hold. It would be different if everything else were rosy, but it isn't. Stressed crews and shortages are far more important than publicity. I firmly believe there should be two crews on all ships to allow for family time. In my time in I saw many marriages ruined by deployments, both surfaced and submerged. The FBM crews seemed to suffer less, but that is only my view, which was restricted. I have several military retired friends and relatives, and most have commented they would have loved to have had the added family time the off-crew provided.
Walt,

With budget cuts, and the need to repair and overhaul existing equipment, they could both be gone. Blue Angles and Thunder Birds!
