William W. Teeple, 77, of Ijamsville, MD passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Nancy (Frazier) Teeple for 53 years.

Born in 1940 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Chester S. and Lola Margaret (Warriner) Teeple.

William proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1969. He was a 1962 graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis and served in the Submarine Fleet. William was an avid Navy football fan and active member of the Alumni Association. He was a member of the Berrien Co. Woodturners, St. Joseph, MI and Catoctin Area Turners, Leesburg, VA. He shared and encouraged his love of sailing, photography, the outdoors, and service to the community with his family, providing lifelong passions for them all. William instilled the values of integrity, compassion, and contribution to the greater good in his children, who carry on that legacy with pride and passion.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his five children, Laura Teeple of Ijamsville, MD, Kathleen O'Connor (Kevin) of Ann Arbor, MI, Bruce Teeple (Shannon) of Las Vegas, NV, Christopher Teeple of Granger, IN, and Victoria Teeple-Clark of Rutherfordton, NC; three brothers, Stephen Teeple (Melissa) of Stevensville, MI, Douglas Teeple (Andrea) of Ravenna, OH, and Peter Teeple (Judy) of Hamilton, OH; two sisters, Margaret Briney (Ken) of The Villages, FL and Donna Vesey (John) of Grand Rapids, MI, nine grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Dr. Janet B. Teeple.

Services for family are private with a later inurnment (to be announced) at Arlington National Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick Co., 516 Trail Ave., Frederick, MD 21701.
