Captain William E. Trueblood, USN (Ret) of Annapolis, MD passed on March 6, 2017. He was 87 years old. Bill was born in Bloomington, Indiana on January 16, 1930, the son of Raymond and Hazel Trueblood. He attended Indiana University for two years prior to entering the U.S. Naval Academy, where he graduated with distinction in 1953.

He also received a Master's Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and the Professional Degree, Naval Engineer from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1958. He qualified in Submarines aboard the USS Quillback (SS 424) in 1960. Bill retired in 1982 after proudly serving the US Navy and his country for 29 years.

Following retirement, Bill spent the next 16 years working for Ram Corporation, Martin Marietta, Annapolis Travel and Anne Arundel Community College until ultimately spending his remaining years with his beloved wife Karen.

He is survived by Karen, his wife of 63 years, three sons, Thomas, James and John, one daughter, Karen along with 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel at 2:00pm on April 27, 2017. Following the service, Bill will be entombed at the U.S. Naval Academy columbarium on the Academy grounds. A reception will immediate follow at the Class of '53 deck inside Dahlgren Hall. All are welcome to attend.
