Boats-163, 64, 65--341' x 27'--7 Officers, 11 CPOs, 69 enlisted.
200' max depth-Riveted hull Layout: Forward TR-4 tubes Officers Quarters over Foward Battery (60 cells) Fwd Engine Room with small crew berthing above and aft Control Room Aft Engine Room Maneuvering Room over Motor Room Crews Quarters over aft Battery (60 cells) Mess over storage room Aft Torpedo Room (2 tubes) Aft Steering Room-The torpedo tubes were actually in this room) The V Class was for 9 boats but it ended up 5 designs. The first 3 were the Bass, Barracuda, Bonita The Bow planes actually folded back into the superscructure Charles Lockwood was first CO of V-3 and actually made an escape from the escape trunk forward to demonstate to the crew of this escape method.
