Real Names are required to Register.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum. It is our desire to help other submariners with their products. However, advertising of any kind must be cleared by BBS Management. This will include links or references to vendors considered as competition to the owners of this system

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the administrators and owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The administrators and owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

Freedom of speechFreedom of speech, the liberty to speak and otherwise express oneself and one's opinions. Like freedom of the press which pertains to the publication of speech. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution bars the federal government from "abridging the freedom of speech".  (Note that "Freedom of Speech" in this context does not give you the right to post "anything" you want on this BBS.)

Although speech is freer in the United States than in many societies, federal and state laws do restrict many kinds of expression. Some kinds of speech regarded as damaging to individual interests (e.g., libel and slander...See Rule #7) are limited primarily by the threat of tort action; other forms of speech (e.g., obscenity...See Rule #6) are restricted by law because they are regarded as damaging to society as a whole. Speech that is regarded as disruptive of public order has long been beyond protection (e.g., "fighting words" that cause a breach of the peace or false statements that cause general panic ...See Rule #4). The government also limits speech that threatens it directly; although sedition laws are rarely prosecuted in the United States, such rationales as a danger to "national security" have been invoked to silence criticism of or opposition to the government.

The internet being the cyber version of the Wild West that it is, I have found it necessary to impose some message board rules. I ask that you please read and respect them so that we can all continue to have a wonderful time here.

1. Keep all replies to a message on topic; ANY off topic messages will be deleted. (This includes witticisms, and smart remarks.) Feel free to create witty topics in the correct area.

2. Do not post a job posting or a resume in the message boards. That is what the job board software is for.

3. Please do not use racist slurs, or prejudiced comments. This includes religious beliefs, geographical location, and political beliefs.

4. Please learn to be respectful, tolerate and support each other. (This BBS's) goal is to help others, not see how many people we can annoy. Do not initiate arguments or tension. This will only cause the triggering of other members and make this site less professional.

5. Spamming is also off-limits. Spamming is either advertising for something (like a get rich quick scheme) or anything that looks like a chain mail. (i.e. Here's an angel to brighten your day, forward this to five people or your life will be hell). Almost all virus warnings, cookie recipes, and stories about children with cancer that you receive on the net are not true and qualify as spam. Don't post them here (without researching) and please don't send them to other (BBS members).

6. Sexual innuendo and profanity. Keep the site PG-13, kids visit this site, the NRC visits this site, the Secret Service visits this site, Managers visit this site, I visit the site, good Christian people visit the site, etc. If it's questionable, don't do it. Let's just say that if you're going to post something that really needs the questionable language to achieve the desired humorous effect put it in the password protected "Bathroom Wall" in the donors only area, so those that choose not to go there will not be exposed to it. Got it? If you're in the middle of a thread and feel the need for an expletive, can we maybe star out some of the letters or something?

7. Peoples name's: Don't use them, they lead to law suits. Some names are already censored because of this. Don't use names in stories or messages that could in any way be taken wrong.  No libel or defamatory messages.

<>Libel - Published material meeting three conditions: the material is defamatory either on its face or indirectly; the defamatory statement is about someone who is identifiable to one or more persons; and the material must be distributed to someone other than the offended party; i.e. posted on NukeWorker.

<>Defamatory - An imputation is defamatory if it is calculated to engender: `hatred, contempt or ridicule of', `lowering the estimation of', or causing people to `shun or avoid'.

8. DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, IT IS THE ELECTRONIC VERSION OF SHOUTING AT PEOPLE.

9. Do not re-post news articles in their entirety on this BBS, as it is illegal to do so on a public system such as ours. Instead, we recommend that you summarize, quote, discuss and link to the original article. For more information about "Fair Use" and why posting a news article on our site isn't fair use, read this article: http://blogs.onenw.org/onelist/001833.html

10. Do not argue with the forum staff in the open forum, those messages should be sent via PM (personnel message) to the person you are having trouble with, and the forum administrator(s).

Continued violation of these rules will get you deleted/banned. I have a one strike and you're out policy in regard to anything obscene or totally offensive. In most cases you will be warned (put on "probation") and given a chance to play by the rules. Again, use a little common sense and you'll be just fine.
